Florrie Forde 1875–1940
Born in Melbourne, Forde went to London at 22 and became one of the great music-hall chorus singers — her speciality was a song an entire theatre could join in with. She popularised “Down at the Old Bull and Bush”, “Hold Your Hand Out, Naughty Boy” and, during the First World War, “It's a Long Way to Tipperary”.
