Peter Dawson 1882–1961

An Australian bass-baritone with one of the longest and busiest recording careers of anyone in this catalog, running from cylinders in the 1900s through to LPs in the 1950s. He recorded prolifically under an assortment of pseudonyms — Frank Danby, Will Strong, Hector Grant and others — partly to work around exclusivity agreements, so a Dawson performance does not always carry his name.
