The Tollefsen Trio debut 1909
Carl Tollefsen (violin), born in Hull and later of Brooklyn, with his wife Augusta Tollefsen at the piano and the cellist Paul Kéfer. They gave their first concert in New York in March 1909 and toured America for some thirty years afterwards. They recorded for Edison, Victor and Columbia, but they were a concert ensemble first — the records are a sideline to a career made on the platform.
