Creatore and his Band 1871–1952

Giuseppe Creatore was a Neapolitan bandmaster who brought his band to America in 1902 and conducted with a theatricality that audiences came to see as much as hear — leaping, hair flying, entirely unlike the military bearing of his rivals. The playing underneath the showmanship was serious, with a strong operatic repertoire.
