we fill our cups and sing Just a wee joke, Honduras, just a wee drop, that's all Just a wee joke, Honduras, before we're gonna war There's a wee wifey waiting, in a wee buttoned bane If you can say it's a broad-bricht, moon-licht nest, well, you're all right, you can Just a wee joke, Honduras, just a wee drop, that's all Just a wee joke, Honduras, before we're gonna war There's a wee wifey waiting, in a wee buttoned bane If you can say it's a broad-bricht,

Public domain

Harry Lauder 1870–1950

A Scottish music-hall singer and comedian whose fees briefly made him the best-paid entertainer anywhere in the world. Lauder toured Britain, America and Australia in kilt and crooked walking stick, and most of the material was his own — “I Love a Lassie”, “A Wee Deoch an Doris”, “Roamin' in the Gloamin'”. He was knighted in 1919 for entertaining troops and raising funds during the First World War, in which his only son was killed.
